Do you have crazy ideas and wonder if they make sense?

Do you want to be the founder of an innovative new company?

Do you ever wonder if you have what it takes? If you are strong, smart and disciplined enough?

Do you ask yourself: I want to achieve great things, but don’t know where to start?

If  YES then today we are going to help you learn more about the best way to achieve all those things – The Execution Competition.

As we already announced Seeqnce is organizing the first startup competition this November, called The Execution. Since we got all excited and wanted to learn more about this great opportunity that could help make dreams come true, this afternoon Seeqnce had an interview with Fadi Bizri, Founding Member of Seeqnce and its Community Manager.

Here are some of the key information and answers we got from this interview.

What is The Execution about? – Fadi explained that it is a month – long startup competition where applicants

1.Register

2. Submit one or more ideas (optional)

3. Form teams

4. Undergo a strict training and selection process

5. Spend an intense 48 hours building a product out of the idea.

The best product and team wins a full acceleration at Seeqnce.

An important note is that all of the startup projects need to be web and mobile related.

Who can apply? – Well this is great news: EVERYONE under one of 3 profiles-business person, developer, or designer- WITH or WITHOUT an idea can apply. You can apply as a team or as an individual.

What does it take to get selected? – Besides the basic criteria and professional background, Fadi emphasized that they are looking for people who take initiatives, who have organizational skills, who have a strong desire to build something: “During the application process there is a space for them to explain why they should be considered. This is the part where they can prove themselves in addition to the CV they submit”, said Fadi.

What are the phases of The Execution? – All information about The Execution can be found on Seeqnce Facebook Page. The Execution is composed of 5 phases:

Deadline: Wednesday, November 9

  • Phase 2: Submit your Startup Ideas: “This is an optional step meaning that if you have a mobile or web related idea you submit it. You can submit more than one idea, or skip this step entirely and join a team with an existing one”, explained Fadi.

Deadline: Wednesday, November 9

  • Phase 3: Team Building: “This is a mandatory phase where accepted applicants meet at Seeqnce and build teams. Startup teams will be composed of 3 people: 1 business person, 1 developer and 1 designer. Individuals and incomplete teams must show up on Thursday, November 10 at Seeqnce for this mixer”, said Fadi.

Deadline: Wednesday, November 11

  • Phase 4: Team Shortlisting: “A mandatory 4-night workshop series. The teams formed in phase 3 will be trained on interpersonal team management, building a business case, technology for developers, marketing and sales among others. The main idea is that the teams arrive at the end of the 4 training days ready with answers to questions such as: What is their market, how are they going to make money, why does it all make sense, or why is this a viable business”, said Fadi.

Date: Monday, November 14 to Thursday, November 17

  • Phase 5: The Execution: “The teams have 48 hours to build a working prototype out of their idea. At the end of those 48 hours, they will present in front of a jury and the best execution, or the best implementation, wins. One team wins everything”, explained Fadi.

Date: Friday, November 18 at 6pm to Sunday, November 20 at 6pm

What does the wining team get? – Fadi told us that the winning team gets 3 months of full acceleration at Seeqnce Space. This includes residency, advisory services, investor relations and more (all these are valued at around $15.000)

What does it take for one product to win? – Fadi pointed out 3 main criteria: 1) a working product, 2) its user friendliness, and 3) the rationale behind the implementation: the team must explain the implementation and execution choices ex: “Why they decided to implement it this way and not that way? What is the logic behind? How does this apply to their analysis of the business or the market they are attacking?”

What is the role of team skills and team fit in the final evaluation phase? – “Normally the quality of a product is related to a quality of the team. Thus in most cases a high quality product is a reflection of a great team behind it. So yes, we will definitely take into account the team quality too. Throughout the various phases we will observe teams and identify the ones with the best chemistry”, said Fadi.

What happens with the winning team after the 3 months of full acceleration at Seeqnce? – “Seeqnce is all about the end to end. In other words, we take startups at the concept stage and accelerate them through the seed and early stages of a company. After 3 months, the idea is that they have a refined product ready for launch, a solid team and a good understanding of the market. This makes them primed for further investment”, explained Fadi.

In the end, Fadi sent a great message to all entrepreneurs and to young professionals, and young students aiming to become entrepreneurs: “This is a great opportunity. It’s very competitive but there is a lot of fun too. Anyone who has ever dreamed, talked, discussed, or thought of building a startup should apply for The Execution. They will really go from A to Z. They will really find out if they have what it takes to make it big. They will connect with others with similar aspirations, and those others will be the best of the best.

Moreover, teams will have a chance to get accelerated through a program that has already been proven. So they will connect with the best, work on some of the most interesting ideas, and will be highly challenged to achieve great things. If they want a shot at something that can potentially take them very far then they should definitely apply”.

So if you are a developer, designer, or a business person who has entrepreneurial aspirations in the web or mobile tech world then don’t wait and APPLY NOW!
