Entrepreneurs Facilitate Missing Persons Search

Web & Mobile entrepreneurs use technology to facilitate finding missing persons in Egypt. Entrepreneurs at Seeqnce show their humanity, impartiality, unity, and volunteerism by enabling the crowdsourced #Jan25 Missing Persons List, engaging social media communities to populate it, and empowering people on the ground to find, identify, and report.

The list can be found at: http://bit.ly/ghonim

It all started when Wael Ghonim, Head of Marketing at Google MENA, went missing ‘online’, with no tweets or status updates for over 24 hours. Friends searched for him on Twitter and Facebook to no avail. When his family reported him missing, the severity of the issue became clear: If the Head of Marketing at Google MENA could go missing without a trace, what of all the non-execs out there? Who’s asking about them? And so the #Jan25 Missing Persons List was born.

In the past 10 days, this List has helped locate over 25 missing persons in Cairo, Suez, Alexandria, and other cities in Egypt. Wael Ghonim was found just today, released by his captors! If you have any information about the rest of the missing, go to the link above for details on how you can help.
